Build a database of contacts from a specific list of accounts you wish to target

Account Based Marketing is an increasingly popular approach, with more and more of our clients wishing to target specific lists of accounts - be it current customers they want to promote new products to or lists of organisations they do not currently have as clients.

Traditionally, like most B2B lead generation companies, we would have been limited to the volume of data we already had in our database that matches the list of organisations our clients want to target. This would often result in us not being able to take on significant volumes for ABM campaigns, and even having to turn down work occasionally due to lack of data at the relevant organisations.

How our Data Build function could help boost your results

Since launching our Data Build function, we have numerous success stories under our belts. Here are some examples of how building laser targeted databases has supercharged our clients’ campaigns…


Campaign Goal – to deliver 1,285 leads with IT Decision Makers in India who work for companies with no more than 500 employees.

Initially, we only had access to a small volume of data for SMB’s in India – enough to generate around 250 leads. We set about building a database from scratch for 10,000 net new IT Decision Makers at SMB’s in India, and managed to generate all 1,285 qualified leads for SAP by the deadline.

The result has seen multiple new campaigns come through from SAP, not just in India but also in other APAC regions.


Campaign Goal – to deliver 40 BANT qualified leads with HR Decision Makers in Australia and New Zealand. Contacts had to have a project on their HR software solution within the next 12 months.

HR has been a function that we’d not spent time exploring in the past, and as a result, we had no data in our system to target. A data build was engaged to locate 600 contacts that matched the campaign criteria, and our Delivery Team went about qualifying these contacts.

We hit the 40 lead mark before the campaign deadline, and provided SAP with 40 BANT qualified leads for their Sales Team to follow up with. This campaign was extremely profitable for Qualifa – a direct result of having very accurate data to call into.


Campaign Goal – to deliver 200 leads with Marketing Managers and above across US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.

Traditionally, our main focus has been with an IT audience. As a result, we had a lack of data for a Marketing audience within our databases. We built a bespoke set of data to run the campaign, and managed to deliver all 200 high quality leads whilst maintaining a profitable performance.

This has led to Salesforce booking a further 200 leads for the audience, which is currently running very profitably for us!


Campaign Goal – to provide Imago Techmedia up to 30,000 net new IT professionals in Sweden. This was to raise awareness for the launch of their IP Expo event in Stockholm.

Working with an exclusion list of around 27,000 IT professionals that Imago Techmedia had acquired previously, we began building data to match their criteria. We were able to provide over 23,000 new contacts for their event launch, mapping out the entire IT landscape that use LinkedIn in Sweden!

This has resulted in further bespoke data build campaigns to fuel their registration process in London and South East England, as well as their launch in Chicago.

Having now reviewed the success of the early stages of our campaign, the data purchased through Qualifa appears to be working really well for us, in comparison to our results when launching previous events. The marketing team here at Imago have been increasingly cautious of data providers and buying new contacts as the results have always been disappointing in comparison to the ‘dream’ that is promised at point of sale!  Qualifa’s method and approach is to source direct from Linkedin, and so whilst the process may take longer, the contacts acquired are relevant, current and active. So far, so good!!  I’ll be looking at ways in which this method can support other areas of our business growth.
