In my role as Talent Executive I get to meet people from all walks of life, looking for all sorts of different opportunities, with all sorts of different experience and I love it! I love that I get to be the first point of contact for many people who are interested in coming to work for us; it constantly reminds me how lucky I am to work for a company that cares so much about every single one of its employees.
Back in 2014 I graduated from my BA/BSc in Psychology and English Literature and, like most people in that situation, had absolutely no idea what I was going to do next. I was lucky enough that James Burton remembered me from my time as a telemarketer (I still choose to take that as a good thing, thanks James!) and got in contact to let me know that Qualifa were looking for someone to join the HR department. HR was definitely not a career path I had ever considered before but I knew that;
- A) I’d be stupid to turn down an interview 2 weeks after finishing my degree
- B) I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work for a company where I already knew I loved the people, atmosphere and ethos
And here I am… Still enjoying everything about my role nearly 2 years later. I’ve not only found a job that I enjoy and has launched my career, I’ve also built a solid network of wonderful people I get to spend time with every day.
As part of the HR Team I get to be involved in all sorts of different areas of the business, but the best part for me is seeing people start on their journey through Qualifa. There is nothing like seeing people’s faces when they walk in to the office for the first time. I constantly get to hear “Wow! You get such good views up here”, “Your office is way bigger and brighter than I thought it would be!”, “This is nothing like the call centre I worked in before”. Comments like these fill me with pride every single time. Almost 80% of our recruitment comes from people referring their friends; not only are our employees happy here, they are so happy that they want other people to experience it too. We frequently get people who have previous experience in telecoms and, correct me if I’m wrong, but I can’t think of any one of those people who have told me they preferred their old call centre environment.
Qualifa brings something different to the table. It has something for almost everyone. If you’re looking for something flexible to go alongside your music/studies/second job, you can do that. If you’re looking to come in and smash your targets, make as much money as possible and then move on, you can do that. If you’re looking to start a career within a young company and work from the ground up, you can do that too. You can’t walk more than 5 steps across the office without seeing someone who started out as a Market Research Analyst and has worked their way up; ask around, there’s loads of ‘em!
Anyway, I’m done waxing lyrical about the joys of working for a company like ours – you all know what it’s like. And if you don’t, come find me… I’ve barely scratched the surface…
Have fun!! Emily x
